Short Answer: Lots of fun! Long Answer: You may have noticed that we are hosting more events than most weddings. In typical Indian weddings, there are several customs and traditions leading up to the ceremony. We have chosen to fit as many of these events into our wedding weekend as possible. We are excited to involve you in these traditions and immerse you in Indian culture.
The Haldi ceremony is a pre-wedding Hindu event where turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom. Turmeric is known to possess healing, beautification and purification properties. Guests will be able to give their blessings by "cleansing" the couple with turmeric paste and wishing them prosperity as they begin their new life as a married couple.
Sangeet is a pre-wedding celebration which translates to Music Night or Musical party. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple, but the bonding of all of their friends and family members.
This is the procession of all guests taking the couple to their ceremony location. There will be music and dancing.
