It’s funny how life works out sometimes—Kevin and I crossed paths long before we ever truly noticed. We went to the same middle school, shared a few classes, but we didn’t really connect back then. Life took us in different directions, and after I (Yvette) moved to another school, we each followed our own paths. Years passed, and we lost touch. Then one day, I posted an Instagram story, and Kevin replied. What started as a casual conversation soon turned into something more, and before we knew it, Kevin invited me to dance. I said YES, and from there, we spent months enjoying taco dates and deepening our friendship. We quickly realized how much we had in common—our love for family, our similar sense of humor, and our shared faith in Christ. And along the way, we fell in love. As we spent more time together, we also started dreaming about the future. We talked about our personal goals, our aspirations, and everything we hoped for in life—usually after Mass and always over tacos. But here’s the fun part—we learned that before we were even born, our mothers lived just 35 minutes apart from each other in Mexico! And when we reconnected as adults, our mothers lived only 10 minutes away from each other. It felt like fate had been quietly shaping our lives long before we even realized it. Our relationship took a big step forward when Kevin, during a trip to Mexico, asked my (Yvette’s) father for my hand in marriage. When we returned to Texas, I thought I was going on a double date with friends, but instead, I found myself blindfolded and proposed to in front of both our families. Of course, I said YES! Since then, we’ve been working hard toward our shared dreams—preparing for marriage through classes, making sacrifices to buy a home before the wedding, and relying on God’s grace to guide us along the way. Now, we’re thrilled to be here today, ready to take this final step toward becoming husband and wife. We are so excited to declare our love for each other in front of God and our families, and we’re beyond grateful to have each of you here with us as we begin this new chapter in our lives.
