Travel Note
Please read the following in its entirety: U.S. citizens traveling to India will need a valid passport and visa before arrival. Please use the official Government of India e-Visa website linked below and follow the instructions carefully, as requirements, fees, and timelines may change. We recommend applying for the 1-year e-Tourist Visa and submitting your application no later than October 1st, 2026. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application and should have at least two blank pages. After approval, you will receive an Electronic Travel Authorization by email. Please print this approval and carry it with you when traveling. You may also be asked to show proof of return or onward travel, so please keep your return flight information easily accessible during travel. Please make sure the name, passport number, and travel details on your visa application match your passport exactly. Each traveler, including children, must have their own passport and visa. For first-time international travelers, we also recommend checking your passport expiration date early and applying for or renewing your passport as soon as possible if needed. U.S. passport processing can take time, and you will need your passport before you can complete the Indian e-Visa application. Important reminder: A visa is separate from a passport. Guests must have both a valid U.S. passport and an approved Indian visa before traveling.
Travel Note
For guests traveling from the U.S., please note that flights to India can take approximately 19–24 hours total, depending on your departure city and layovers. Please book your flight to ensure that you arrive with enough time to check in at the hotel, rest, get ready, and arrive on time for the first wedding event. India is also approximately 10 hours ahead of the U.S., so you may experience jet lag. We recommend arriving at least one day before the first event, if possible, to give yourself time to rest and adjust. Because India is such a long-distance trip, we also recommend considering a week-long stay so you can make the most of your travel to Asia. Please feel free to reach out to us if you would like suggestions for itinerary planning.
Flight
For guests traveling from the U.S., one flight option we recommend considering is: Etihad Airways: Chicago to Jaipur via Abu Dhabi Approximate total travel time: 18 hours and 40 minutes Please note that flight availability, schedules, and pricing may change.
