When hurricane Sandy hit New York on October 2012, most of Manhattan had no work, no gym, no subway, and no open bars. The Hell’s Kitchen queens, unlike their downtown counterparts, were lucky to have electricity, which they used for a great cause – dating apps! This is how Yu met Eyal. It wasn’t long after Yu and Eyal met at the only operating bar Ritz, did he find out Eyal was temporarily staying at his friend’s place a few buildings away. Yu mentioned to Eyal that in this building lived a cute guy whom Yu had been stalking for months and who was going to the same dancing class in Yu’s gym on Saturday mornings with all the old ladies. Eyal knew exactly about whom he was talking – his friend Noam, with whom he was staying! Eyal connected between Noam and Yu, who had their first date the following day, October 30, 2012.* Yu had no idea he was going to be obsessed with this same guy for the rest of his life, be squeezed into his same apartment, travel around the world with him, and marry him! *This is the reason we decided on wedding dates’ around October 30!
