FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are welcome to stay at the hotel and enjoy the weekend. For the reception luncheon, only children from our families or involved in the ceremony will have seats or be included. The luncheon will be buffet-style with open seating, but we’re only able to send luncheon invitations to a limited number of guests, so we aren’t able to include additional children at the meal. That said, we’ll have snacks and beverages available at our Airbnb throughout the weekend for hotel guests including children.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

RSVP by March 15, 2026. We will also be sending out formal invites soon for reminders. This helps us finalize our luncheon headcount and plan the weekend smoothly—especially with many guests traveling in.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We’ll be staying at Lake Bluff Inn & Suites from Friday 6/5 to Sunday 6/7, and we would love for you to stay with us! It is a two-night minimum, which we know is a big ask, but we’d really love to spend as much time together as possible that weekend. Please call the hotel directly to book your room 🙂 (269) 637-8531 Give them our last names (Mallo or Kuramochi) and the wedding date (6/6) so the front desk can place you in the correct room block!

Question

What should I expect at the luncheon?

Answer

Our luncheon will be relaxed and lightly structured. After a brief welcome and blessing, a buffet lunch will be served, followed by a few short speeches, a slideshow, and cake cutting. We hope guests feel comfortable staying for as much or as little of the luncheon as they wish.

Question

Is there a formal program or timeline?

Answer

There will be a gentle flow to the luncheon beginning at 12:30 PM and wrapping up around 2:30 PM.

Question

Can I leave early?

Answer

Absolutely. We understand that travel, children, and other commitments may require flexibility, and we want our guests to feel at ease.
