Flight
This is Cartagena’s main airport and the best place to fly into from the United States. Direct flights are available from New York, Miami, and other major U.S. cities. U.S. citizens do not need a Colombian visa for a tourist or business stay of 90 days or less. To visit Colombia, the expiration date on your passport should not be less than 6 months or 180 days from the date of entry. As an example, if you arrive in Colombia on February 14th, 2020 your passport must be valid through August 12th, 2020 (180 days). Here are some recommendations to get flights: 1) JetBlue offers direct flights to Cartagena. So does Avianca depending on which city you are flying from. 2) Bogota has the most flights and typically is the most affordable route. Flights from Bogota to Cartagena are just one hour length. 3) Copa Airlines offers more affordable flights with one stop in Panama City. 4) Miami has a number of direct flights to Cartagena as well as most other major Colombian cities.
Hotel
Cartagena has both an old and new city. The venue for our wedding is in the old city as well as most of the touristic places. Old city hotels are smaller and look more traditional. New city hotels are bigger with more modern conveniences (and the nicest beaches are located here), but to get from the new city to the old city you need to take a short cab ride. Airbnb, is another great option, including a number of places with ocean views. If you're interested in renting a place and want help connecting to other wedding guests to share the cost, let us know. Here are some hotel recommendations in both areas.
