How to RSVP for the Welcome Party and Main Event?

Answer

When you receive your invitation, please detach the bottom portion. Add FULL NAMES of each guest after the Mr./Mrs. line_____ Accept or decline for both events. Add the initials for each guest next to the desired meal choice, and throw it in the mail! No Envelope required, postage is already included!

Where can I book a hotel?

Answer

Please check out the travel section of this website, there are three hotels offering discounted rates. Plus a shuttle service will be provided to and from the ceremony and reception and then back to these three hotels.

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

The name of the airport is Jose Maria Cordova, the airport code is MDE. This airport is literally 10minutes from the wedding venue.

Are kids welcome to the welcome party and to the wedding celebration?

Answer

We love kids, but the welcome party is an adults only event! The wedding and reception will also be adults only, the only kids present will be our nieces and nephews.

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Formal attire, women can wear gowns, evening or cocktail dresses. Men please wear suits :)

What's up with all the names, Antioquia, Medellin, Rionegro etc?

Answer

Antioquia is the state, known as 'departamento.' Within Antioquia are many cities, the largest and best known is Medellin, where you will find anything and everything from quiet neighborhoods to more hip and trendy areas. In the outskirts of Medellin you have Rionegro, which is also a city, more rural, yet quite big, this is where the airport is located, and where the ceremony and reception are taking place on Aug 20th. The welcome party is in Medellin on Aug 18th. See the Schedule section for full schedule of events and times.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes limited parking is available at the ceremony, and plenty of parking is available at the reception.

Should I stay near the wedding venue or more towards the heart of the city?

Answer

The distance between Zona E, the venue where the ceremony will take place, and the center of the city, is about a 25-30 minute distance. Medellin is a massive valley, picture a bowl, the airport as well as the venue are located at the rim of the bowl, and as you make your way down you start to see more and more of Medellin. The heart of the city and the 'rim of the bowl' are connected by a brand new tunnel, which makes travelling between the two a lot more convenient. For first time travelers to Medellin I would recommend staying in the heart of the city, see suggested hotels in the Travel section. For those wanting to spend a few nights near the venue and a few nights in the heart of the city, there are plenty of accommodation options- this is actually a pretty cool way to get a feel for both parts of the city.
