If someone had told us back in February 2021 that we’d be writing this story together, we both would have laughed—and maybe rolled our eyes. We met at Liberty University through a group of friends, and to say sparks didn’t fly would be an understatement. Honestly, we were so different that we didn’t like each other very much. But despite our differences (and maybe a little stubbornness on both sides), we managed to stay polite... well, mostly polite. We hung out with the same group a few times, keeping a careful distance and silently agreeing that the other was “not our kind of person.” Surprisingly, though, we kept in touch that summer. What started as sporadic messages turned into more frequent conversations, and slowly, we began to see each other in a different light. By the time fall semester rolled around, our guarded politeness gave way to genuine curiosity. Somewhere along the way, we went from “tolerating” each other to genuinely enjoying each other’s company. In 2022, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend. (Spoiler alert: I said yes!) From that point on, our story transformed into a whirlwind of fun adventures, meaningful moments, and inside jokes that only we understand. Then came April 14, 2024, a day that marked a significant step in our journey together. It was a moment filled with anticipation and excitement as we took a leap into the future. We got engaged!!! Looking back, our journey is proof that the best stories often begin unexpectedly. As we stand on the brink of this new chapter as husband and wife, we are excited to see where this adventure takes us next, confident that our love will continue to grow and flourish.
