Justin first introduced himself to me by greeting me "Happy Birthday new friend!" on my Facebook wall (our mutual friend set us up!). We then exchanged AIM (#IYKYK) screennames and started talking and getting to know each other. We finally met in person during a triple date we had with our friends. We went to dinner and saw a scary movie which Justin loves, but I hate. Of course, he tried to "protect" me from the scary scenes like the gentleman that he is. After that night, we had a few more dates including Valentine's Day. It was a really amazing time and it ended even better with our first kiss. A few days later Justin was walking me to my car after getting off work and my car wouldn't start. He rescued me by jump starting my car. While hugging outside in the freezing cold, he looked me in the eyes and asked me to be his girlfriend. I, of course, said "YES!" and our adventure began.
Justin and I were on a trip to California for job interviews and our 10 year anniversary. We decided to go and explore Huntington Beach Pier the day before our anniversary. We wanted to walk to Ruby's Diner which is at the end of the pier and eat dinner there. The beach was beautiful and walking on the pier reminded us of walking around the Atlantic City boardwalk back home in New Jersey. When we got to the diner, Justin told me he had already made a table reservation which I thought was odd because I'm usually the one that does that for us, but I was too hungry to pay any mind to it. When the hostess walked us upstairs to our table, I saw one of my brothers standing by the table, then as I walked closer I saw the rest of my family. My grandparents, my mom, my uncle, and my three brothers were all there. My mom was holding a sign that said "Nikki, Will you marry me?". I turned around to Justin and there he was down on one knee. He said some really sweet things which, I was too shock to even really comprehend (lol!), then pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. I shouted "YES!" and my family and the whole restaurant cheered for us. We are sooooo happy to finally be planning our wedding and hope that you all can be a part of our celebration!
