Yukari and Henry have come a long way since that first day they met, nervous in Miami as they were about to embark on their Peace Corps adventure in Paraguay. They both had instant crushes on one another. However, being timid and reserved, their relationship didn't start until over a year passed. They hit it off at a Peace Corps Volunteer event and then their relationship really began. They would travel 12 hours just to see each other every other week. When their Peace Corps service ended, they traveled across South America, including the wine regions of Argentina, Patagonia, Montevideo, and the jungles of the Ecuadorian Amazon. When their adventure ended, they knew their love had grown. Henry went back home to Richmond, Missouri, a small rural town outside of Kansas City. Yukari went back home to San Rafael, California, just north of San Francisco. After being apart for just a few months, Henry packed up his parent's old Impala with everything he needed and hit the open road to his new home, the Bay Area, with partner-in-crime, Yukari, in the passenger seat. Henry got a job as a farm manager in Pescadero, one hour south of San Francisco. Though they weren't as far apart as they were in Paraguay, they still carried on their relationship through the distance for a while. They would spend each weekend together. Now, they live happily together in San Francisco, both working for non-profits. Each has a commitment to bettering the world and a commitment to each other. They are excited to celebrate their wedding with family and friends. And they are even more excited for their future together forever.
