On one of the hottest days of the year 21’ Douglas and I happen to be at the same local creek/swimming hole. Douglas had been at the swimming area longer than my sisters and I, when we got there I noticed him watching me jump off rocks from afar while him and his dad were on their kayaks. There were a few times I’d look over to see if he was watching and we’d make eye contact. After so many times I told my sister “you see that guy over there? I’m going to see if he’ll let me on his kayak! Watch this!” Having no idea how I was going to do it, I swam over to him and when I got to him, pretended I couldn’t swim very good and asked him to hold his kayak to float. Douglas definitely caught on to what I was doing but I could tell he was very shy so he just smiled and laughed. I then asked to get on and we started talking. We went from complete strangers making eye contact to then jumping off rocks together while holding hands. He told me I was very pretty and asked for my number. Not too long after Douglas picked me up for our first date. Something about him was so intriguing to me I just had to know him and we eventually became best friends! After about a year of building an amazing friendship we decided to become a relationship. We have now been together almost three years and the rest is history! We are both so excited for what the future holds for us and are so happy to share this special story with all of you!
