Kuratsa (クラーッサ)

The Kuratsa is a Waray Folk Tradition expressing commitment of the newly weds, through dance.
This Folk Tradition is often practiced to celebrate a couple's unity and honor the families and all those
present in the wedding rites.
The Kuratsa between Yu and Akhyrin will be performed three times; representing their past, present, and future.
While the Kuratsa is being performed, participants and attendees offer or shower "Gala", or monetary gifts,
as a gesture of support, blessing, and wish of good
fortune for the newly weds.
(We will have a desk where you can break large bills)
The Kuratsa shall be held in the following sequence:
- the Father of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom
- Ninongs and Ninangs
- Yu & Akhyrin
- All attendees
As a Waray Folk Practice, we encourage everyone to participate in this tradition.
