We met in college through mutual friends. At first, we didn’t really know each other—just two people who happened to be around the same group of friends. Over time, the conversations got easier, the sarcasm turned into inside jokes, and somehow, we went from distant acquaintances to best friends.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, everything slowed down. We started talking more, sending each other sunset photos, and spending long nights on the phone. Eventually, we realized it was more than just friendship. Our first date was a picnic—because, you know… social distancing. Halfway through, the sprinklers turned on, just like that iconic scene from High School Musical 2. Totally unplanned, totally chaotic, and somehow, totally us.
Since then, we’ve shared a lot—collecting Squishmallows, exploring new sushi and hot pot spots, playing Avalon, and soaking up beach vacations whenever we can. Along the way, we met each other’s families—hers including three lovable dogs: Sam, Jamiey, and Nala—and adopted a black cat named Chia, who runs the house now. In 2023, we returned to one of our favorite places—Hawai‘i—where Michael proposed to Ysabelle. Now, we’re getting married and couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with the people who mean the most to us!
