Maid of Honor
You ask how I met the bride? Well Sarah and I met thanks to a mutual friend and mutual social awkwardness. Thank goodness for Facebook! We hit it off beginning with back and forth texting all day and the rest is history. We’ve done some wild things together. It’s amazing how we’ve come from punk ass teenagers to here- Sarah getting married to an awesome guy. Sarah is the absolute best friend a girl could ever ask for, thankful I can call her mine!
Best Man
Our friendship kicked off in an unconventional setting—a McDonald's parking lot—where Mark and I, quite by chance, found ourselves engaged in a game of pinecone baseball, this was after first meeting at a high school party, an impromptu musical and some underage drinking. This unique beginning was the start of what would become a deep and lasting friendship After that party we wouldn’t meet again until my brother started dating his sister, we reconnected and Mark became one of my closest friends and the only other nerd I had befriended at the time. We bonded over tech, new cell phones, building computers, and eventually adventuring together in made up worlds of Dungeons and Dragons. Our adventures were not just limited to games and gadgets, eventually it expanded to include our partners. My wife and I have had the joy of spending countless hours with Mark and his wonderful fiancé, Sarah, building a friendship that encompasses not just us, but our families. I am honored to stand by Mark’s side as his best man. I couldn’t be happier to watch my friends begin their life together.

I first met Mark after he moved back to Connecticut. He was helping Billy and I move into our first apartment. I could see how he and Billy were friends (although Mark would say they aren’t friends, but soulmates). On one of the trips back and forth, Mark and I rode together in my car. He mentioned a girlfriend named Sarah so I asked him about her. I remember him speaking of how hardworking, kind, and, of course, beautiful she was. How she was younger, but a nurse with a good head on her shoulders. I could see then what I see now— a man in love. When I finally met Sarah, she was so funny and bubbly, I loved her right away. We bonded over our crazy boyfriends, baby yoda (yes, we know his real name now), dogs, and our anxieties. After many group gatherings, game nights, and double dates, our friendship blossomed to where we are now and I’m so fortunate to be able to call them both my friends. Many lovely years later, I have the pleasure of being in their wedding and I couldn’t be more excited! I wish them every joy and happiness in life and I hope to be beside them along the way.

Mark has been one of my best friends for 25 years, since we were 10 years old. We met when we shared the same bus stop in elementary school and have been friends ever since. We both loved skateboarding around the neighborhood and riding our bikes through the woods. Although we didn’t live near each other for a number of years due to my military service and him moving away to Vermont, we never lost touch, and were able to reconnect in our adult years with our love of music, motorcycles and being outdoors. I’ve known Sarah almost as long as she grew up with my younger sister and have always considered her an extra sibling. Although I have been protective of her and teased them both to stay away from each other, I couldn’t be happier that they found each other in this life. Their relationship is one of trust, friendship, and love. A rare gift. I am truly honored to be a part of their lives and their special day.

It’s really rare to see two people who you love and hold dear find each other, and love each other. But when Sarah and Mark met, that is exactly what happened. I’ve known Mark since I was a baby, before I even had a sense of self awareness. He’s always been like a big brother to me. Sarah came into my life around the time I gained self awareness. We grew up together and she has helped shape me into the person I am today. Mark and Sarah are both selfless, loving, hardworking people, and I couldn’t think of a better pair to be together. Everyone hopes to find unconditional love and loyalty and I see so much of that in this union. They truly deserve all the happiness that they bring each other. I have loved watching their journey and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. I whole heartedly believe this next chapter is going to be a great one and I wish them the best.

Where do we even start, between crazy bar challenges that we didn’t conquer resulting in our papers being used as place mats, just hanging at the house we lived in together and drinking cold ones or riding motorcycles together and having a blast. It’s hard to remember all the good times we have had together because there are so many over the years. The hardest thing for me is when you decided to move away but obviously it was for the better because you met the love of your life and I couldn’t be happier for the two of you. One thing I do need to highlight is from one of our adventures back home from the bar (midnight) we stopped at McDanks and got some cheese burgers because why not, mark is driving down the road and had just opened his burger out of the package and either hits a bump or just driving like Mark does ( with no care in the world because he was having a great time) his burger decided it didn’t want to be a sandwich anymore and half of it including the patty goes flying across the Supra, we both start dying laughing next thing I know he grabs the fallen piece of burger and puts it back together and eats it like the real man he is. We have had great memories every time we are together and I wouldn’t change it for anything. I cannot wait for you and Sarah to tie the knot and live your lives together to the fullest!

Sarah is my girlfriend’s cousin, but ever since we met she has felt like family to me. Over the decade we’ve know each other, we’ve bonded over our love of a relaxing beach day, taking road trips, and our shared musical interests- ranging from Panic! at the Disco to Taylor Swift. I’ve been so lucky to be a part of Mark and Sarah’s love story from hearing about the first time they met, being the designated photographer for their engagement, and now being a part of their wedding.

Sarah is my favorite cousin and honestly, more like a best friend than anything for the past decade. As with any good friend, you want to make sure their partner is the perfect fit for them. I knew from the moment I met Mark that he was the one for Sarah. Every time I am with the two of them, Mark is constantly making Sarah laugh, or making fun of her. Either way, Mark is a joy to be around. What a solid dude. I am so grateful to be standing next to Sarah & Mark on their special day.

It has only been a few short years, but none the less, some unforgettable years. We have battled demons, and slayed some monsters even Geralt of Rivia would hesitate at. We have achieved titles of nobility, sailed with notorious pirates, and casually shared beers in taverns places most people have never heard of. (Less a few drunken brawls) But to us, its just another Monday night. Every week in d&d when we all sit down the group gets to learn about who you're playing, but when you play with someone enough, you end up learning a little about them too. You learn how they deal with conflict, and how they remain humble when triumphant. You learn how they respond to stress, and manage difficult situations; how they act when they're mad, and what it looks like when they laugh so hard they cry. By the end of a campaign, you find out THEIR character. I couldn't have asked for a better friend, and am so happy Mark and Sarah have asked me to be a part of their adventure. I can't wait to see what the dice have in store for them!

I've been fortunate enough to know Mark his entire life. Well, maybe not that fortunate. I remember about a year after his divorce; he called to tell me that he had met this amazing girl from Connecticut. When I asked him if he thought it was too soon to start dating again, he responded nope and once you meet her you will love her. So, one night, he called me while she was in Vermont visiting. He was not lying; I absolutely loved her from our first conversation. It is so nice to go to their house and not want to sit down because your afraid you will be there for hours talking. Especially, when you have lots to do. It is because of Sarah that I have the relationship I have with my brother today. I am lucky I get to call someone like Sarah my sister in-law. I am so grateful that my brother has not only met someone that makes him happy but has met his soulmate. They balance each other out and bring the best out in one another.

It’s funny how people come back into your life so unexpectedly. I’ve known Mark since middle school. We had a lot of the same friends but never really hung out. It wasn’t until many years later he would become great friends with my husband and I great friends with his soon to be bride. I couldn’t ask for a better book besty and true crime junkie than Sarah. I’m so glad our husbands friendship has brought our friendship together and I’m so happy to be apart of this journey with them both.

Dear Mark, How did I meet you? Great question, my memory is shot so the fine details are hard to recall. I do remember I met you at work? You started not too long after I did, and at first you were pretty quiet and kept to yourself. Being the nosey nelly that I am, I would ask questions about you to the other coworkers that were working directly with you to get the scoop. After hearing you weren’t half bad, we started engaging in conversation and learning more about each other. Turns out not only were we the same age (even though you are much greyer than I am), but we also shared a lot of the same interests such as cars, motorcycles, the outdoors, beer, and other man stuff. We quickly became friends and started hanging out, and eventually we fell in love and the wedding is actually for us so sorry Sarah….
