We’re Getting Married!

We first met working at a restaurant in 2011. We used to joke that we met on Craigslist because that’s where the ad for the job was posted (haha). The restaurant closed after being open for a month; it was later that year when chance happened and we worked together again at another restaurant. Before Amanda relocated to South Carolina in early 2012 for work we started what would turn into a long distance relationship lasting for a year until Amanda moved back to Raleigh in 2013. And the rest, as they say, is history!

We got engaged on July 30, 2019 at a Fado restaurant in Lisboa, Portugal while on vacation with Amanda’s family. Chip knew he wanted to purchase the ring in Portugal and propose on the trip. We engaged the help of Amanda’s Aunt and snuck in and out of jewelry stores until we found the right one. It was definitely a special moment having Amanda’s family there (and easily one of the coolest adventures we’ve been on!).
