Question

Catholic Wedding Guest Guide

Answer

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. To help maintain the reverence of the Nuptial Mass, please kindly observe the following: Attire: Please dress modestly in respect of the church. Women: Shoulders covered (shawl, wrap, or bolero is welcomed), modest neckline, long hemlines. Men: Suit or dress pants with dress shirt; jackets encouraged; no hats inside the church. Reverence in the Church: Please silence cell phones completely. No food, drinks, or gum inside the church. Enter quietly and maintain a prayerful atmosphere. Photography is restricted during the Mass. We have hired wonderful photographers who will capture all special moments. During the Mass Non-Catholic guests are welcome to join in standing and sitting but may remain seated during Communion. Only practicing Catholics who are in a state of grace (have been to confession in the past year and have not committed mortal sin since last confession) should receive the Eucharist. Others may come forward with arms crossed for a blessing or remain seated. We are grateful for your respect, reverence, and presence on this sacred day.
