State College isn't completely a food desert! Here are some of our favorite restaurants in town that help us push through graduate school :) Best tacos: Lupita's Authentic Mexican Food - It is in a gas station. You can't get more central PA than that! Best ramen: Maxx Ramen (per Daniel) (It's technically in Lemont but worth the 10 min drive!) or Tadashi (per Young In) Best Chinese: Little Szechuan - who would've thought dry hotpot actually works?!? Best burger: The Fields - when all you really want is a table covered in fries... Best brunch: Sowers Cafe - a great place to meet your future spouse ;)
For those looking to sample some of the local fares that Central PA has to offer, we recommend checking out these spots: 1) North Atherton Farmers Market - Best pizza stall- try the breakfast pizza, thank us later! 2) Meyer Dairy Store - Step 1: get a milkshake Step 2: don't count calories and enjoy ;) 3) Way Fruit Farm - Apple cider donuts are something everyone needs in their life!
The hidden gem just outside of State College. This town is the site of the most important events of our relationship. Daniel proposed in Talleyrand Park! In addition to the park (which is great in general), Bellefonte is home to two hard cideries, Good Intent and Titan Hollow, that are definitely worth checking out if you're there!
This was the second half of our first date, where Daniel was introduced to Young In's sense of humor, her wonderful niece, and her refusal to share her ice cream! We recommend Bittersweet Mint (Young In's favorite) and Death by Chocolate (Daniel's favorite)!
One of the more special places we went to early in our relationship, Seven Mountains has a relaxing vibe with good sweet wine options, especially the Blackberry Merlot! You can bring a small picnic to share and make a nice summer afternoon out of it too!
