Since Steph and Bryan started dating 6+ years ago, planning trips to see different cities, beaches, and towns has always been an important part of their relationship. A few of their top favorite trips have been: Niagara Falls (their first trip as a couple in the dead of winter), Seattle, Newport, New Hope, Mystic, and Boca Raton. Every trip is filled with great cocktails, good eats, and even better company. When it came to planning the proposal after a long cold winter in Weehawken, Bryan knew it was time to plan a trip. On April 28, 2023, Steph and Bryan took a day off from work to getaway together and spend the night at the Asbury Ocean Club in Asbury Park, NJ to have a "fancy night" (as Bryan likes to call it) to dress up, drink fancy cocktails, and enjoy the beach views. Little did Stephanie know, Bryan had bigger plans for this trip. For the proposal, he had planned a proposal on the beach at sunset with a photographer, Alicia, there to capture the whole moment. Typical luck for Bryan, the whole week leading up to the proposal, the weather forecast showed a perfect 75 degree sunny day with a light breeze. To Bryan's shock that morning, the weather completely changed and it didn't just rain, it POURED with no signs of clearing up. It was time for him to think of an alternative plan quickly. When they got to Asbury Ocean Club and were ready for their "fancy night" of cocktails, they headed into the Asbury Ocean Club's Drawing Room at 5pm, still with no sunset in sight. They were seated and once they each had a cocktail (an old fashion for Bryan and a cosmo for Stephanie), Bryan asked a stranger in the room if she could take a photo of them (little did Steph know that this stranger was Alicia, the photographer). Steph and Bryan posed for the picture and Bryan got down on one knee asking "Steph, will you marry me?" and after what felt like the longest moment of shock, Steph said "yes!".   They can't wait to celebrate with their favorite people on 10.4.24!
