Dan and Sheila just returned the night before from a trip to San Diego. After returning home, Dan and Sheila planned to get dinner with Dan's sister Andrea and her boyfriend Jerry in the North End (where Sheila and Dan were living at the time). Dan mentioned that Andrea wanted to stop and take pictures before dinner at Christopher Columbus Park. Sheila did not think much of it as Andrea is super artsy and has a food Instagram that she is always taking pictures for. After Andrea and Jerry arrived at Dan and Sheila's apartment, they all walked to the park together. In the park there is an archway that is normally beautifully lit with blue lights at night. However, once they arrived, they noticed the lights were not on this time. Dan was NOT happy and Sheila could not understand why it mattered so much thinking, “its just a picture right?”. So while everyone was walking along under the archway looking for a good spot for pictures, Sheila notices another couple approaching who were walking two dogs. Sheila and Dan LOVE dogs, and quickly noticed it was two French bulldogs, which they especially loved. Sheila and Dan stopped to say hi and pet the pups. This is when Sheila realized it just so happened to be two french bulldogs from Boston that both she and Dan follow on instgram and love @BoomerandBrinkley. Sheila was starstruck! As she was petting them both and chatting with the owners, Dan told Sheila to check Boomer’s collar. Sheila told Dan "that's impolite" and continued to pet the dogs. Finally Dan said to Sheila "look on Boomer’s collar, what does it say?" Sheila looked and realized it was a note with Sheila's name written on the envelope. Sheila's heart began to pound. She began to read the note and realized what it was. She looked next to her and Dan was on one knee, with a beautiful ring in a light-up box. It was truly a magical moment both Sheila and Dan will never forget in one of their favorite spots in the city.
