Windmill Island Gardens
A gorgeous place to view Holland's amazing display of tulips. The Annual Tulip Festival is in early May (The 2nd is the first official day of the festival!). The Holland, Michigan area boasts over 5 million tulips, planted & ready to burst forth in bloom in spring.
Big Red Lighthouse
This is our favorite lighthouse, and we have seen many on our lighthouse road-trips! We love it so much that this is the exact place Jason proposed.
Big Lake Brewing
The best place in town for a flight of beer shaped like Lake Michigan and delicious loaded tater tots. Our personal favorite!
New Holland Brewing on 8th
Because have you really been to Holland if you haven't been to the New Holland Brewery?
Ottawa Beach
This is the place we got engaged! It is a perfect place for an ice cream, dip in the lake, or even just a spot to read a good book!
Mt. Pisgah - Historic Ottawa Beach
Mt. Pisgah features fabulous views of Lake Macatawa on your way up, and the breathtaking views of the Holland Canal, Big Red, and the sand dunes that surround Lake Michigan. There are a lot of stairs and no dogs allowed on the stairs so please be mindful of that when visiting.
The 205 Coffee Bar
This is where we met our lovely Venue Coordinator, Candice. Just as the name states, they have coffee and cocktails at the 205 Coffee Bar!
HopCat Holland
Amazing Cosmik Fries and Great Times at the Hopcat! The Holland location just opened in 2019.
Nelis' Dutch Village
A visit to Nelis' Dutch Village is like a step back into the Netherlands of over 100 years ago on a day when a festival came to town. Watch old Dutch craft demonstrations and Dutch klompen dancers. Taste 22 kinds of Dutch cheeses, beautiful Dutch architecture and listen to the Golden Angel street organ. Includes unlimited rides on the Ferris wheel, carousel and Dutch chair swing ride. Unique shopping, Dutch cafe and pub, and fudge and ice cream.
Holland Museum
This is a small museum that explains the development and settlement of the Holland area. Main floor has a hands-on lab for kids where they can do some basic experiments/activities (check the hours as this is not always open).
