WE'RE (GETTING) MARRIED!

Written by Chris :) Amanda and Chris believe their story was meant to be. The circumstances of their meeting could have no other purpose other than to bring them together - quite literally from opposite ends of the country. Amanda moved to Chicago in March 2016 after spending a blissful four years working for Disney at its flagship Disney World Resort. She quickly worked her way to park operations management, where she oversaw the annual Food & Wine Fest during her final year as a fitting swan song. It was around this time she felt the pull back home: to Chicago. Chris lived in Los Angeles for a year, working as a writer & performer. After about nine months, he decided it was time to truly cut his teeth in entertainment within Chicago's renowned comedy scene, and moved in August 2016. Neither Chris nor Amanda were particularly fond of dating apps; both had "tried", but neither had taken to them. And in the end that was okay! They were each other's first 'match' on Hinge - a dating app that, in retrospect, fits their sensibilities perfectly. Matches could only come through social media connections, & they just so happened to have a very random three mutual friends from different phases of each's life. Amanda laid down her best pick-up line on September 25, 2016: "Hey Chris! I see that you like cornhole. I think that's all I need to know." [[EDITOR'S NOTE: They have never played a game of cornhole/bags as of this writing.]] Three years [edit: now 4.5!], countless memories, and an infinite supply of love later, past Amanda & Chris were right: there was very little else they needed to know. They shared the special experience of watching the Cubs win their first World Series in 108 years together during their courtship, & have since seen that once-in-a-lifetime happening as an omen for their once-in-a-lifetime relationship.
