To drive on Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park, you will need 2 separate passes/tickets: 1.a National Parks pass, which can be purchased at the west gate for Glacier NP on the day you go (if you don’t already have one), and 2.an entry ticket to drive on the road, which must be purchased and printed ahead of time. Entry ticket: create an account on recreation.gov, and in the search bar, enter: on “Going to the Sun Corridor 3-day Entry Ticket”. Enter the date you’d like the ticket for, and follow the prompts. You will need to print out your pass, and bring it with you. The person who purchased the ticket must be in the car that’s traveling on the road. These are sold 120 days in advance of the date you want the 3-day pass to begin, beginning at 8:00am MST. The allotment usually sells out very quickly. So for August 31, you will need to go online on May 2 or 3 to purchase, on May 3-4 for Sept. 1, and so on. The entry ticket costs $2, paid by credit card.

Downtown Whitefish, MT offers many great restaurants, shopping, and bars/breweries with a great small town atmosphere.
If you are up for an adventure we recommend white water rafting. It leaves from the West end of Glacier Park, you can choose to do a half or full day trip. Fly-fishing trips are also available.
They offer a variety of rentals including boats, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boarding on Whitefish Lake. If you are interested in fishing they offer charter fishing.
