"Welcome to the Union of Us"

We met at a mutual friend's Birthday bash. He was already there when I arrived and once I started mingling at their house he found me. He started to ask questions about who I was and what I did for a living, little did he know at the time I wasn't the least bit interested lol. I wanted 2016 to work on myself, but little did I know how persistent and patient he is. We exchanged numbers and he kept up with me throughout the year even though I would show up and then disappear. On Thanksgiving 2016, after not hearing from him in a while, I just decided to call and wish him a happy Thanksgiving. He told me that he spoke to the Lord the SAME day that I called, and said " If this is the person I am supposed to be with for the rest of my life, please give me a sign" and he just so happened to pop in my head and I gave him a call. We met up and talked and I assured him that I am not going to disappear on him anymore. -he nicknamed me "Houdini"

We went to my parents house a year later, Thanksgiving 2017, to spend time with family. That day he asked my Father first for his blessing, then my Mother. They gave their blessing after some long conversations and when we arrived back in Texas he was ready with ring in hand. We talked about our future and he asked for my hand in marriage!
