HER SIDE: The FIRST time we ever met was on the last day of Epic's Leadership Retreat in Frazier Park, CA. It was actually in the parking lot as everyone was loading their cars to pack up and leave, and everyone was saying their goodbyes to their friends. I walked up to my carpool group who was talking to a group of leaders that came all the way from Hawai'i. I introduced myself to each guy in the circle, but when I shook hands with "Kevin," he instantly caught my eye (I thought he was SUPER cute). His friends all teased him for something creepy he said to me, but I thought it was really endearing. After that retreat, we long-distance flirted for the next seven months until we saw each other again at Epic Winter Conference in January, 2016. It was that particular weekend that we reconnected, sparks FLEW, and I fell head over heels. I was so head over heels that people warned me to slow down, but I could NOT resist that handsome cutie, Kevin Leong... HIS SIDE: The first time I laid eyes on her was on the FaceBook event, "Epic Student Leadership Retreat", under 'Going'. I did what most young lads would do, I showed her picture to my closest brothers and said, "Mark my words, boys! I'm gonna meet her!". Well, the gestures of love I concocted on the plane flight over never actually happened - and it wasn't 'til she was about to leave retreat in the parking lot, did I meet my do or die moment. I go up to her and a group of friends and say, "Hey I'm Kevin, I think I've seen you before on FaceBook." Cha-ching. Everyone roasts me for being weird, but it was I who was the winner - because I am now memorable, and there's a window of opportunity. My window comes 7 months later at the Epic Winter Conference, I go up to her, with memories of missed connections, and tell her that I want to get to know her. The next 72 hours would be filled with laughter at ourselves, our grand hopes and dreams, and all the ways we could possibly describe how good God is.. The rest is history!

For four whole months, I (Kimberly) believed we were planning this awesome trip to Temecula to celebrate Kevin's brother, Ryan's, birthday in May with a big group of friends. Little did I know, Kevin planned this elaborate weekend to pop the question... On Saturday morning, May 4th, 2019, we arrived to the first winery we had all planned to go to. As we were all standing around waiting to start our tour, Kevin took my hand and asked me if I wanted to go on a walk for some alone time. I was super hesitant at first because I didn't want to just ditch our friends, but Kevin was really adamant about going on a walk in the vineyards, so I reluctantly agreed. He lead us to an empty, beautiful courtyard, and when I saw his friend, Nick, and cousin, Bryan, off to the side really awkwardly with cameras, the lightbulb finally went off inside my head that Kevin was proposing, and I began to cry ugly tears as he said nice things to me. He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife, and I joyfully gave him my "yes" with tear-filled eyes. Our family and friends came out to celebrate and bask in the moment with us, and a couple hours later after enjoying brunch, Kevin gave me a second surprise by leading me to a crowd of MORE of my friends from college, Epic, and our home church! It was the most perfect day. I am so, so lucky...
