As fate would have it Cameron and I met on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico! March 2019, my sister and I decided to set sail on a cruise to celebrate her birthday. A few nights before the cruise we packed and prepared for our trip, my mom jokingly exclaimed, “You are going to meet your husband on this cruise with these outfits!” as she glanced over my suitcase. I laughed it off and told her that probably won’t be the case, but I look forward to the cruise, nonetheless. Well, from my mom’s mouth to God’s ears because little did I know, on the north side of town my future husband would be preparing to go on the exact same cruise for his brother's bachelor party! On March 29th, the first night of the cruise, a party was held at the club on the upper deck. As I was dancing the popular line dance the Wobble, Cameron pulled up dancing right next to me. We instantly captured one another’s attention. We danced the rest of the night together and talked as if we had known each other for years. During the cruise Cameron kept faking reasons to veer off from his friends to “coincidentally” bump into me, he won me over with his personality and charm. He even surprised me with a Colombian bracelet with my name on it that he had made at one of the ports in Mexico. I was instantly attracted to his sense of humor and how romantic he was. He was drawn to my vibrant energy and uniqueness. Once we returned home, we became inseparable and our friendship grew into true love. I guess my mom was right... it was truly love at first cruise after all.
