We met in college. Yosmi was a freshman and Roy was a sophomore. We had mutual friends but didn't become actual friends until 2 years later. Yosmi went up to Roy one night and said "you're cute". Roy blushed and thought nothing of it. A second time Yosmi went up to Roy and said "you're cute". Roy shyly laughed it off and a few days later Roy texted Yosmi. For 10 months they talked and went on dates. They became the bestest friends. Roy finally asked Yosmi to be his girlfriend on December 7th, 2018. He left a note in her room with a pandora bracelet that said "Will you be my girlfriend?". The rest is history!

When Yosmi went to Mexico with her mom, Roy went to visit her father to ask for his blessing. Shortly after he started planning how he was going to propose. He planned to do it during her birthday so she wouldn't suspect anything. He told Yosmi that he planned a dinner with her parents and his parents a few days before her birthday because he was going to take her on a birthday trip. He was very stressed because he could not find a place, but finally found the perfect restaurant for an intimate proposal. The day of, Roy was very nervous but Yosmi didn't suspect a thing. When they arrived at the restaurant all of their family and close friends were there and they yelled "SURPRISE!!!". Yosmi was in complete shock! She still did not know it was an engagement dinner, and believed everyone was just there for her 25th birthday. At the end Yosmi wanted to give a speech to thank everyone for coming but she does not enjoy public speaking. So Roy gladly offered to speak for her. Out of no where Yosmi's friend came with a cake that said "Will you marry me?", and when she turned around she saw Roy on one knee. She was in disbelief and she said "YESSSS!". They both cried tears of joy and the next day went to celebrate this new chapter in Mexico!
