We knew we wanted a destination wedding and the ability to spend quality time with all of our guests. Also, if you know us then you know we love eating and drinking! So we wanted a wedding where the food and wine would be excellent. Come ready to eat, drink and be merry!
You have several options and we are happy to walk you through all of them and what makes sense. If you don't want to rent a car, we will provide a shuttle from the Bordeaux train station that will bring you to the hotel. Just be sure to RSVP as such. Getting to Bordeaux: You can take the TGV from Gare Montparnasse in Paris to Bordeaux St. Jean. Trains usually leave once per hour. You can also fly in, especially if connecting from the States. You can buy your tickets in advance via sncf.com or just buy a ticket for the next departing train once at the Montparnasse train station in Paris. Bergerac: There is a small airport in Bergerac that has many flights coming from the UK. A taxi from this airport to Urval/Siorac would take about 45 minutes. There are no flights to this airport from Paris, unfortunately. If the Bordeaux shuttle will not work for you, you can also take the train to/from Siorac-en-Perigord. (It might take awhile but you'll see a lot of the countryside.)
Not necessarily! You can take the shuttle from/to Bordeaux on Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning. We will figure out how to get you to the chateau prior to all of the events on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for those staying at the hotel. Taxis will also be made available at the end of each event for whenever you are ready to leave. FYI- there is no Uber in this part of France. Just reach out to us if you have any other transport questions!
The Dordogne has a lot of outdoor activities that you might enjoy, i.e., hiking, kayaking, etc. Tripadvisor has many options to explore. Belves is also a nice town to visit. The hotel can help you get a taxi if you don't have a car.
YES. Obviously.
