Landi and I met in public speaking class at UNC Wilmington in 2013. Three years later, we ran into each other at a restaurant in Raleigh, and I asked her if she'd want to catch up over a drink sometime. We met up at a bar called Raleigh Times a few weeks later for dinner and chatted for hours over drinks on the rooftop. It had just rained, and even sprinkled on us a little while we sat and talked. One year later, I brought her to the same rooftop, after it had just rained. It was 103 degrees, so as soon as I said we should sit outside she knew something was up (I can't even sit outside for meals in 80 degree weather without breaking a sweat). I led her to the rooftop where I had arranged a walkway towards a table set with flowers, candles, and a hidden surprise. I believe it was on that rooftop, in the center of a city that we love so dearly, where we realized just how close we could be, how perfectly we complimented each other. And so I knew it should be on that rooftop where I asked her to spend forever with me. -Shawn I will never forget when I saw Shawn for the first time. He was at the top of the stairs at my high school parking lot holding flowers for another girl. I thought it was the sweetest thing and wished that someone would do that for me. Without knowing that God gave me a glimpse of my forever, I moved on with my day. The next time I saw him was two years later in my public speaking class. Unfortunately God still knew it wasn't our time and we ended up on opposite sides of the room. Three years after that class we ironically sat back to back at Raleigh Beer Garden. What Shawn won't tell you (but I definitely will) is that he ignored me! Later I found out it was because he didn't think I was interested at all! It definitely got my attention because "Nobody puts baby in a corner!". A week later we talked on the roof top of Raleigh Times and a year later he got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever and always. - Landi
