Yes, the event is rain or shine. There is some rain expected. Please dress and prepare accordingly. This includes umbrellas, raincoats, and anything else you need personally to stay dry and comfortable. If you are driving or can arrange to bring a change of clothes, you may do so. We suggest bringing a plastic bag to store your items in to protect them from rain at the Park. The ceremony is expected to last about 30 minutes. Guests will then have 90 minutes to make their way to the indoor venue at Tailor Public House.
There is no alternate plan or location to hold the ceremony. We are holding the ceremony in Central Park no matter the weather. Please keep an eye out for email communications regarding additional information leading up to the commencement.
We have also updated the website with step-by-step directions on how to get to Summit Rock. There will be signs, and our Wedding Coordinator Raleigh, directing guests from the 83rd St entrance to Central Park along the path to Summit Rock. You can also click the link on our wedding site for directions. You will be about 2 blocks away if you arrive at the New York Museum of Natural History.
The path is paved and there is a stone standing area on top of the rock. This will accommodate guests wearing heels and dress shoes. There is no grass or unpaved standing areas to, from and inside the entire venue.
There are bathrooms about an 8-minute walk away in Central Park. Please Google Delacorte Theater Bathrooms.
Guests will be responsible for their own transportation to the reception venue. We suggest hailing a New York City Yellow Cab or calling for a private service such as Uber or Lyft. The Subway is also available. Please be mindful and choose official transportation services with the price outlined before departing. Guests will have minimum 90 minutes to get from one location to another. You may use this time to change clothes, or anything else you see fit.
