Jonathan and Nikki began their relationship at the end of the 2018-2019 school year, after a “chance” encounter at JJ Foleys, a popular watering hole in Boston, known for nachos and cheap drinks. Although it was at Jonathan’s nephew Jimmy's birthday party where the couple first met, it would be several months before they would become the inseparable couple they are now. As Jonathan and Nikki’s relationship took shape, they adopted the name Yogameat to coin their relationship. The first part represents Nikki, a yoga practitioner and instructor, and the last half for Jonathan’s employment as a butcher. #Yogameat has become the official hashtag for their life and now wedding. 2020, as the world stopped for the pandemic, Jonathan and Nikki’s relationship charged ahead. Wanting to spend more time with each other, the couple moved in together, Jonathan left living in Manchester, NH and Nikki left Peabody, and found themselves in East Boston. After 3 years of courtship and on the celebration of their anniversary, Jonathan asked Nikki to be his wife. On June 18th of 2022 on a walk down Derby Wharf in Salem, Ma, the site of their third date, Nikki said yes. It was during that time the couple’s love grew even stronger. Making the best of every situation during the quarantine, the two grew together in the most unique, trying and loving ways. Nikki and Jonathan are proud of the relationship they have manifested, created, and nurtured- they plan to spend the rest of their existences traveling, laughing and loving, together alongside their cats, Serena snd Tortellini and Basil the bearded dragon.
