The Long Version: From Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG), you want to get to Gare d'Austerlitz, where there is a speed train to Châteauroux, the largest city near the castle. There are 13 trains per day between Gare d'Austerlitz and Châteauroux, and the journey takes between 2 hours 8 minutes and 3 hours 36 minutes depending on if it is express or not. To get to Gare d'Austerlitz from CDG airport, you can either take public transportation or a cab. Both options will take roughly an hour. The public transportation will be more affordable, but the cab will be a bit easier. Public Transportation to Gare d'Austerlitz: Take the RER train (Réseau Express Régional) from the airport to Gare Nord (2 stops). From Gare Nord, take the Metro to Gare d'Austerlitz (9 stops). The Short Version: 1. Arrive at CGD Airport 2. Take the train or a cab to Gare d'Austerlitz (1 hour) 3. Take the train to Châteauroux (2.5-3.5 hours) 4. Rent a car in Châteauroux and then drive to Saint Chartier (30 minutes) Let us know when you are planning on arriving in Châteauroux so we can coordinate shuttles for those who don't rent a car. If you do rent a car, let us know if you are willing to help others get to Saint Chartier! Alternatively, there are those attending who are hiring a car service from CDG airport to drive straight to Saint Chartier. If you are interested in this we can connect you with them for details. The travel time in a car is 4-5 hours and the roads are fairly narrow and traffic can build up -- we would advise the train.

Getting Around

Saint Chartier is a rural town so a a rental car may be helpful if you also plan to explore the country side. We will also have a few cars between the various family members that we can offer rides if needed.
