The service and reception will primarily be conducted in English, with side-by-side Chinese translation.
Some people have asked about this because of cultural differences in gift giving. We would be grateful for whatever you would like to give, large or small. What's more important to us is to be present with you, or to hear from you if you aren't able to make it :)
We would like to be called the Sparks family. Yihan is keeping her family name on legal documentation and can still be referred by that name. She is satisfied with being referred to as Mrs. Sparks in family and church settings, but would like to be called Dr. Chen in professional and legal settings.
We would like you to RSVP before May 9th.
The ceremony starts at 4:15 pm. We would like you to arrive between 4:00-4:10 pm.
Our wedding will be semi-formal. Feel free to dress in whatever colors you like! If you were interested in our themes, you will see lots of yellows, greens, and white, with a slight hint of baby blue. We would like to request that guests avoid all black or all white, as these colors are culturally significant for specific events in China and America.
Yes, please! If you have a food allergy or have any special requests for the food. Please let as know as soon as possible.
