Keep in mind that Greece is 7 hours ahead. 1. You can fly into Athens and from Athens you would fly into Kos. From Kos you would get a taxi to Mastichari Port. Once you arrive at the port you would catch a boat to Kalymnos (30-60 minute ride). Or 2. You can fly into Athens and from Athens fly into Kalymnos. With this route, please keep in mind that if it is windy or if the weather is bad the plane will reroute to Athens and not land in Kalymnos. To fly from Athens to Kos or to Kalymnos, the airlines that can be used are Aegean or SKY Express. If flying into Kos, the earlier you arrive there, the better. Ferries from Kos to Kalymnos don’t run all day so please keep that in mind when booking flights. ***Tip: some people spend a night in Athens and fly into Kos early in the morning to ensure catching a ferry to Kalymnos. Once the ferry schedule is posted to get from Kos to Kalymnos, I will post it on here.
Travel Note
When flying back to the US, you can 1. Take a ferry from Kalymnos to Kos and then fly from Kos to Athens and Athens to the US Or 2. Fly from Kalymnos to Athens and Athens back to the US (flying out is also dependent on the weather) International flights from Athens to the US close earlier so please to be at the Athens airport earlier to ensure making your flight home. Some people like to stay a night in Athens so they can be at the airport early enough to catch their flight back home.
