Question

WILL THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION BE INDOORS?

Answer

The Nuptial Mass (ceremony) will be inside St. William of York Catholic Church. It does frequently run cooler in the church, so if you are more "cold blooded" we recommend bringing a light jacket. Our cocktail hour at Potomac Point Winery & Vineyard will start outdoors, after the cocktail hour we will process into the winery for dinner and dancing. We recommend bringing a lighter jacket if you are cooler by nature for the cocktail hour.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Answer

The dress code is Semi-Formal. Women: a floor-length gown, a midi dress, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy jumpsuit/pantsuit. Please make sure dresses are modest, especially for the ceremony in the Church. The Church does request women to have shoulders covered and dresses not shorter than your knee. Men: Suit or button down shirt with jacket, & a tie.

CAN I RECEIVE COMMUNION DURING THE MASS?

Answer

Out of respect for the sacredness of communion, we ask for Catholics who are not in a state of grace and non-Catholics to remain in their pews during communion. Do not worry, many of our guests are not Catholic! We expect many of our family and friends to not receive communion, but be united in prayer with us, if they so choose, for the union of all Christians under one Church, as our Lord intended.

ARE THERE OTHER HOTEL OPTIONS?

Answer

There are many hotels along route one, including an option for our Hilton loyalists, nearby to the Church and the Winery. Alternatively, if you'd prefer the quaint small town experience of Fredericksburg, VA then we have recommended a hotel in the downtown area. It's typically a twenty minute drive to Stafford, so it'd be an easy commute to the wedding and reception. PARKING CONSIDERATIONS

Answer

You are welcome to leave your vehicle overnight at Potomac Point Wintery & Vineyard. Per winery policy, please do not return to pick up your car before 10 AM the next morning, as the entrance will be blocked.
