While doing missions work in Cuba, their love story began. Both Jonathan & Sara had never met before this trip to the beautiful island. Each were put on the same team to do ministry together with a group of 14 people. Over the course of the trip the two of them enjoyed each others company and getting to know each other. Yet, there were no sudden movements. Sara on the other hand, she began to see qualities inside Jonathan that she wrote down on a "Standards List" for her future husband at age 15. She was simply thankful to God in knowing that someone she had only dreamed and prayed about was REAL! Meanwhile, God was speaking to Jonathan's heart. He began praying to make sure this pull to Sara was not emotional, but something that God had divinely planned. Jonathan told Sara on a 15 hour bus ride, "I would be stupid to not pursue a Women of God like you." and told Sara, "If you are not my wife, I don't know who is." - While in tears, a promise that God kept with Sara was fulfilled to: bring her someone who found her, play no games, and pursued her endlessly to one day marry her. After this moment, God continued to bless their relationship with family & friends confirming what God only could have formed. Jonathan & Sara embarked on dating long distance between Miami and Orlando every other weekend. A sacrificial love that is worth a hundred times over regardless of the miles apart.
After a month of planning Jonathan popped "The BIG question" on February 16th, 2019. He told Sara they were going to a celebratory dinner on the beach for his Best Man, David Orlando due to getting into medical school. In making it casual, he invited groomsmen, Tim Mansingh for the ride. Before getting to the restaurant around dusk, Jonathan suggested for the crew to go see the sunset. Sara still unaware of anything and simply following happily since her favorite place is the beach. Once walking over the bridge to arrive on the beach, Jonathan began to tell Sara how he loved her and the story of making the purpose coming to life while walking to the end of the dock. Once there, he fell to one knee and asked Sara... "Will you marry me?" It was the easiest YES she has ever had to say.
