After a series of texts and phone calls, Brian, a D.C. native, promised to show a relatively-new-to-the-area Venicia his city. "The non-touristy parts," he promised. Following a 12-hour, 8 mile trek across the city, plans were made for another date. And then another. And another still, until...
Venicia's parents were in Baltimore for her father's fraternity national convention, and her younger brother "just happened" to be in town to to both visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture and his favorite sister in D.C. While Brian and Venicia had both met each other's immediate and extended family, their parents and siblings hadn't been in the same place at once to meet each other. After a weekend of showing our families around some of our favorite spots (including a pop-up Game of Thrones-themed bar!) , Brian asked Venicia to marry him during dinner at a charming Baltimore restaurant. Naturally, she said yes, and did not cry*. *She cried.
We are overjoyed to show you a bit of the bride's hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as we affirm our commitment to each other in a venue that began it all--a museum. We look forward to celebrating our union in the heart of Louisiana's Capital City, where football, good food, unique culture, and southern hospitality is a way of life.
