July 14th, 2021 - There are no longer rooms available Saturday night at Icona. Availability remains for Friday, Sunday & Monday nights. There is still full availability at Pier 4 Hotel. May 25th, 2021 - Hi all! We're so blessed to hear about everyone's excitement for our wedding this fall! Accommodations - Due to the surprising, well appreciated, demand, we've added an additional room block & shuttle service to another hotel for the night of the wedding. Another thing to keep in mind for when you're planning out accommodations for our wedding, most of the hotels outside of our room blocks require a 2 or 3 night minimum stay. If you are planning on staying local the night of the wedding, we highly recommend booking your hotel stay sooner rather than later. COVID-19 - Everyone's health & safety is our top priority for our wedding. With the decreasing cases in NJ, and rise in vaccinated individuals, we are very hopeful for our wedding to go on as "normal" as possible. We will be following all state regulations and guidelines, along with CDC suggestions for our event. If there are any changes, we will continue to share so everyone can plan accordingly. We highly encourage all of our friends & family to take time this summer to become vaccinated. If you need assistance in scheduling an appointment, please reach out to either of us for help!
We met at Ramapo College where we were both working toward our Bachelors degrees in music. We shared numerous classes together, and I grew to hate everything Dean contributed to class discussions. I thought he was annoying and insufferable to be in class with. Dean well... didn't know I even existed. Fast forward to Junior year - Dean came back to school with a new style and I well, couldn't keep my eyes off him! As a true Leo, I knew what I wanted and I wouldn't stop until I got it. We dated casually through the rest of our Junior year, and at the end of the year faced the obstacle of my impending 8 week study abroad program. We both agreed that there was no point in stopping a good thing, made in through the 8 weeks apart, and the rest was history!
So, I had two "when I knew" moments. The first was in Junior year, only a couple of months into the relationship. I was in Elainey's dorm room watching her prep for a Greek Life event she'd organized and for a split second, I just knew she was someone I wanted to be with long-term. The second moment came after a particularly rough year in which I was working between two and three jobs. When you think of traditional wedding vows, one of the lines is "for better or for worse". Elainey was there for me at my worst, so I knew then and there that I wanted her to be with me for my better, our best. - Dean I knew very early into our relationship that Dean was the one for me. I remember standing in my dorm room Junior year (only a few months after we started dating), while we waited for my roommate to get ready to go for dinner. I turned to look at him and our eyes connected, and I just felt this overwhelming love and emotion. It wasn't anything he did or anything specific, but it felt like the stars aligned in that moment. - Elainey
It was the weekend of my 26th birthday, and we had plans to visit my parents in Brigantine for the weekend. We arrived around dinnertime on Friday, where my mom made my favorite meal. After watching an episode of The Office and eating birthday cake, Dean abruptly said "let's go for a walk on the beach". There was no question or asking my opinion - it was a demand. My heart instantly started racing - this was it, he was going to propose on the beach! When we got up onto the beach, I saw a professional photographer set up and I was shocked. I looked back at him and he smiled at me... and then walked the opposite direction. My heart stopped racing and I couldn't help but laugh at myself for the whole situation. Dean was still acting a little odd - he was all nervous and kept checking his phone. After walking for a few minutes, he said he had a stomach ache and needed to go back to the house to use the bathroom. We walked into the house, Dean ran upstairs and I went to the back porch to finish watching the sunset. My mom proceeded to yell at me for getting sand/wet feet on her new outdoor rug (weird right?), and then Dean texted me to bring his water bottle upstairs because he forgot it. I brought the water bottle upstairs to our room, and I opened the door to see rose pedals across the floor leading to the balcony. Outside, there were candles, drapes, twinkle lights and more rose pedals. And there was Dean standing, awkwardly as usual, in the middle of it all. I don't remember much of what happened after that, but next I remember is sitting on the outdoor sofa with a new fancy ring, a glass of champagne, and crying.
