We first met at a Clemson football game, there was some casual conversation and we went our separate ways. We were both so busy putting our studies first that we only got to know each other over text. A few weeks later, I reached out to Skyler when one of my classes got canceled and we finally had some time to grab lunch. We got some burgers and talked for what felt like hours. We enjoyed each other's company so much that we decided to catch a dance production together on campus. The rest as they say is history.

It started simple enough with a family camping vacation in North Dakota. When we got back to my hometown I wanted to show Skyler my favorite spot that overlooks the river. That day I was excited to show him the view but also annoyed at him because he was on his phone all day and seemed super distracted. Sky said he was talking to his buddies. Little did I know he was talking to my best friends that I had been trying to reach the entire trip but they were all "out of town". So we finally got to our destination and I was taking in the amazing view, it had been a few years since I had been to that location so I was in my own happy place. I turned when I heard a couple of girls calling my name. It just so happened to be my two best friends! Like girls that haven't seen each other in a while, we were screaming, jumping up and down, and hugging. I turned around to see Skyler on one knee with a beautiful ring! At that moment he made my favorite place THE best place on earth. I was super overwhelmed and my first thought was "no flipping way", my second thought was "yes absolutely". What came out of my mouth in between tears was "No, I mean YES!" There were laughs, more hugs, kisses and we popped some champagne in celebration. We met up with my parents shortly after for a celebratory dinner. It was the perfect weekend and Skyler did an amazing job planing everything.
