Of course as you all know AJ is my sister so I have been knowing her my whole life. Since a young age I always looked up to my big sister because of her amazing leadership skills and her determination to always be the best and do the best . As little girls we would always talk about this day , when we would walk down the aisle with the love of our lives. I am so happy that she is finally getting her fairy tale ending! I pray that God continues to favor your marriage with Yemi and that it is fruitful. May you guys grow stronger together as a unit and keep God at the forefront ! How I met OpeYemi Akanji!? He visited my house from Naija at age 16 and I was forced to live with him. He ate ALL my snacks! He then left and rejoined us back in Lincoln RI. In Lincoln we became closer. We in fact shared a room and a bed together for almost a year and a half. During that time we watched numerous episodes of “heroes” on his dell laptop that kept freezing and talked about life goals. He’s helped me through relationships and even calmed me down when my siblings got me upset. Ope was by far the funniest person I have ever met at that time. There was never a dull moment and We had so many adventures but had no car so it made it even better. Since then I’ve seen him grow literally into an adult. From community college, to graduation, to moving into his own place, to engagement. It’s been a blessing knowing my first cousin and great friend! He has achieved so much and has been a person I look up to. Best wishes! -Bolaji

I am beyond honored to be standing by my sister’s side on one of the most special days of her life. I met AJ back in 2006 when I moved here from Liberia. Her family was actually one of the first people my father introduced me to and I became friends with AJ & Jojo. We were good friends throughout high School and college and our friendship have grown stronger over the years. I consider her a sister rather than a friend and I thank God that we’ve stood by each other all these years! My wish is for AJ & Yemi to have a marriage that is faithful & favorable! I pray that they will receive endless favor from God and blessed in every aspect of their lives. I pray that the hands of the lord be upon them and that happiness will forever reign in their home. Yemi Akanji aka The yeminator- brother - great friend & My son’s Godfather. Our friendship started about 15 years ago, first we were teammates on a soccer team, we then became neighbors and as years went by we became really close. It was the best times of our lives honestly. He’s so knowledgeable about football, music(especially Kanye west) -fitness - just everything. we both follow a international football team Manchester United & whenever I become frustrated with them losing matches Yemi would say something positive to change the mood i really hated him for that but That’s just who he is - never seen him angry or upset. Really Hard working- honest - dependable - respectful- courteous & considerate person. Truly blessed & I’m so happy for you and Aj, it’s has been a honor to have witnessed the birth & development of your love for one and another. AJ I remember us always knowing each other from church when we were younger but never officially hanging out or becoming friends until my sophmore year of highschool (2006) Haha. One day u came up to me after school and said we should hang out one of these days and from that day on we were literally inseperable!! There was no where u saw AJ that u didnt see Grace lol. Lord have we came a longg way. Now its been a whole 16 years later and you have become a wife!! Im so happy for you & Yemi. Ive been there through this whole journey from day 1 that it started haha and here you guys are now. To me, love is commitment, honesty, loyalty, understanding and the fear of God. I am happy that you have found that in each other. I recall over 11 years go or so, we went out to eat in Providence. I was sitting next to Ejemhen and Yemi was sitting right across from us. I believe this day was the first time you both set eyes on each other. I noticed Yemi looking at Ejemhen and I leaned over to her and whispered I think he likes you and Ejemhen replied “how do you know” and I responded “ because he keeps looking at you”. well the rest is history and we will be celebrating your Love. I know in every relationship there are ups and downs but your willingness to fight for each other is a beautiful thing. Ejemhen and I go way back, dating more than 12 years. You have a special place in my heart and I’ve always and will always look at you as my little sister. I am extremely honored to be part of your special day. Yemi is my cousin. I met him on one of my trips to Nigeria. Our whole family met and we were introduced. He told me he was coming the US. He stayed with us for a year or two which is when we got to know each other. Til today he is my funniest cousin. All the scoldings we got in the summer of 08’ will never be forgotten. The Hercules pizza trips to the ccri walks. Memories were made. I’m glad you come to stay with us, I’m happy to have met you. I wish you and Ejemhen the best. I love the both of you and congrats!

I first met Yemi back in 2011 and he was always such a kind friend. He was always so calm and quickly became like a brother to me. I knew that he and AJ were dating but AJ and I didn’t officially meet until 2014 and we instantly became close friends! It was literally God sent like her and I always say. I consider her my soul sister, and one of my best friends. Their love has always inspired and touched me. I could not wait for this day to come. I have to be honest that I can't remember how we met. lol during our 13 years of friendship we have experienced good, bad, and ugly moments and those moments we have overcome together that I am so overwhelmed with emotions and don't know where to start. It's only been 13 years, but it feels like I've known u all my life. Remember those intense video game sessions that lasted longer than we would ever publicly admit. and when I say intense, that is putting it mildly. We have been there to see each other win, and we have also been through some challenging times. We have faced losses together and did a lot of learning in life together.. I've come to love u like a brother, and trust u like a friend. You might be one of the most level-headed, nonjudgmental, always calm men that i know. Now that i think of it, I don't think I've ever seen you upset at anyone. to think back when we were so young, i dont even think that we ever thought of marriage. One thing i do know is ive seen the love that you guys have watered, nurtured, and cultivated, and i cant think of anyone better for each other than you guys! Marriage is not a walk in the park, but it is beautiful and worth it. Im so happy i get to be a part of this union, i wish u guys the best. Im not an expert, but if it’s one thing I can tell you from experience, love/kindness/communication goes a long way. Oh, and lastly, your wife is ALWAYS right.
