Roy and I actually had freshman year Chemistry together at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (Mountain Cat Proud - meow!). I remember seeing his name all the time when homework would get passed up to the front, but I didn't know who he was. Then, during chem lab one time, he handed me a rubber stopper for an experiment, and I thought it was a simple yet very kind gesture. Fast forward a year. I had changed my class schedule around to be in a certain math class and had to add a new elective. I chose Public Speaking, which took place every Wednesday night for 2 hours. I joined about 2 weeks after the start of the semester, and it was a great class. I thought Roy was really funny and smart, and he thought similarly about me. The class was very intimate and, since everyone talked about things they liked, it was a great way to get to know someone. The class eventually ended, and we parted ways for winter break. After the start of the spring semester, I ran into him in the hallway and he asked how my break was. I said in a cheery tone, "Terrible!" and walked away. He. Was. Hooked. After chatting a little bit through a mutual Public Speaking friend on Facebook, we eventually started messaging each other, and one day I asked him to lunch. That was our very first date - March 28th, 2013. We went to Main Moon Chinese Buffet in Richland, and the rest is history. Moving in together, taking a huge leap and moving to North Dakota to continue to be together, moving back to Pennsylvania without the certainty of jobs, taking turns working while the other was in school - we have both been through a lot together. There is absolutely no one else I would rather be doing this all with though. We are so lucky to have so many loving friends and family members in our lives, especially YOU! And we would be so honored for you to join us to celebrate our love for each other and for everyone in attendance!
