One day in the cold month of December in 2019, Yazmine Patel walked into the Pfizer Validation department as a new employee and met Eli McCanlies. The rest, they say, is history. We never expected to find our soulmates through work, but after getting to know each other through our challenging daily work at Pfizer, we realized we had quite a few things in common. We both graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering (but funnily enough, did not know each other in university). We also found each other loved traveling, concerts, films/shows (Harry Potter specifically), fine dining, and cooking meals. Eli fell for her almost immediately and eventually asked her on a date to George’s French Bistro once the timing was right. On our first date, we realized that we have almost identical tastes in food/drinks and ended up ordering the same meal. Many restaurants and dates later, we still order the same meal (almost) every time we eat at a restaurant together. It never grows old going to a new restaurant and knowing what each other is going to order. As our relationship grows, so does our excitement for our future.
