Where to Eat & Drink
Amman has no shortage of amazing restaurants from international chains to rooftop lounges. But if you’re looking for something local and authentic, here are a few places we personally recommend: 1) Mosele Shawarma: Casual and delicious 2) Hashem Restaurant: A downtown institution for falafel, hummus & tea 3) Abu Jbara: Known for quick, fresh traditional breakfast 4) Habibah Sweets: Famous for their kanafeh (don’t leave without trying it!) 5) Jabal Restaurant and Cafe: A scenic café nestled in the hills of Salt. Great views, peaceful vibes, and perfect for a quiet afternoon.
Rainbow Street
📍About 10 minutes from most listed hotels. Best visited at night when it’s cooler and livelier. Allow extra time for traffic! Trendy cafés, boutiques, and a great spot for sunset strolls.
King Abdullah I Mosque
📍Just 5–7 minutes by car from most listed hotels we provided. Iconic blue-domed mosque open to visitors (modest attire required).
Roman Theater

Wast Al-Balad ( Downtown)
📍About 10 minutes from most listed hotels. Best visited at night when it’s cooler and livelier. Allow extra time for traffic! Buzzing markets, local snacks, and lots of character. Don’t miss Habiba for the best kanafeh!
Petra
📍3 hrs from Amman One of the 7 Wonders of the World! Don’t miss the walk through the Siq to the iconic Treasury.
Wadi Rum
📍4 hrs from Amman Camp in the red desert, ride 4x4s, and stargaze under the clearest skies. 🎬 Fun Fact: Wadi Rum has starred in several major films, including The Martian, Dune, Star Wars: Rogue One, and Disney’s Aladdin (2019)!
Dead Sea
📍1 hour away. Float effortlessly at the lowest point on Earth and try the famous mineral-rich mud — it’s amazing for your skin!
Wadi Mujib
