Right around the corner from the Whiskey Factory - keep reading for some of our favorite stand-outs within the Market, but if you're looking to purchase a whole lot of cool things you don't need, start here.
If you want a sneak preview of our wedding bar offerings - head straight to the source! Detroit City Distillery is the home of all of the liquor that will be served as well as the cocktail recipes.
Full Measure holds a special place in our heart because it's owned by two very special people that I (Stephanie) spent a lot of time with and learned SO much in my brief career as a potential future brewer. Annette and Mike have an unbelievable amount of skill & knowledge (and amazing recipes) and opened a one of a kind brewery JUST in time for you to all go before the wedding :)
Another Eastern Market Brewery - this one is providing the beer offerings at our reception, so another sneak peak potential.
If you're feeling snackish - yes they have the best pizza in Detroit but ALSO don't sleep on the gnocchi.
Our friends at DCD told us to go here after our cocktail tasting - there is curry on everything and it is GOOD. There's also a lil baby arcade, so that's pretty neat.
The Solanus Center is a part of the St. Bonaventure Monastery - a gorgeous building with a cool museum & a lot of history. There used to also be a pretty sweet picture of Carl & his dad helping with the exhumation of Father Solanus' body prior to his 2017 beatification, but alas, it didn't make it through the renovations.
While the restaurant is not open during the break on wedding day (the butcher shop is!), we would be remiss to not include Marrow - we've been patrons the entire time we've been together, from tens of incredible dinners (thank you for the duck, Sarah!) to being part of their meat club to taking their butchery classes together, to doing tequila shots and eating donuts blindfolded with the butchers & bartenders. Forever will Carl be known as "Sapphire" to the staff.
If you’re looking to hang close to the church, it’s a dive bar but The Lumberyard makes a burger that comes pretty dang close to Shamrock (and that’s saying a lot). Also they have really great ranch.
Mackie’s favorite “restaurant” and the cute lil spot we took a lot of our engagement photos! They have cherry amaretto ice cream that’s to die for. (To be honest we have never gotten anything here but ice cream, but we have gotten a LOT of ice cream.)
O.G. Kuhnhenn Brewery & the best one locally - you’ll never have the same tasting DRIPA twice, but it’s never not good.
Hit Dragonmead on your way downtown - it’s sure not flashy but it hasn’t been around as long as it has by not making good (Belgian!!!!!) beers.
