During her freshman year at Mountain View College, Chidalu organized a fashion show on campus. With the help of her advisor, she was able to recruit models and amongst those models was Yassien. Chidalu and Yassien were introduced back stage of the show by her best friend, who had known Yassien since childhood. Turns out, Yassien and Chidalu both went to the same high school at the same time and never knew of each other. After the fashion show was a reception, and Chidalu sat across from Yassien along with some friends, and after talking to him for sometime she realized he has the same type of dry humor as her (but he doesn’t call it dry humor, he calls it dead serious humor). Yassien eventually asked Chidalu for her Snapchat and after talking for sometime, Yassien asked Chidalu out on a date. Chidalu was so nervous because it was her first date but Yassien was a perfect gentleman and he left a great first impression. This landed him a second date two days later where Chidalu invited Yassien over to her family home where she cooked him fufu and okra soup. Unbeknownst to Chidalu at the time, that meal was what made Yassien fall for her. The two went on a date almost every day that week and by May 1st, 2016 Yassien asked Chidalu to be his girlfriend. These two shared many wonderful years of laughter, love, and growth together. They went through many major milestones together that has prepared them to come before God to go through the most important milestone of their lives thus far.
