Where timing, laughter, and a little match-making come together… there’s a story worth telling. Omar & Yasmeen’s story began with connections by family and friends, and a plan for their first introduction to be over FaceTime. On the very first day, Yasmeen got ready for the call… only to receive a good old-fashioned phone call instead. The change in plans was quickly forgotten when “let’s keep it short” somehow became a two-hour conversation ending with, “Wait, how long have we been talking?” The next night, Yasmeen got ready again. This time, a small mix-up about what time to call led to another unexpected start. When the FaceTime finally began, so did what would become their favorite part of each day. From then on, there was always something to share, a reason to laugh, and plenty of “just one more thing before we hang up.” During their many calls between Illinois and Ohio, the two quickly discovered plenty of shared interests… until the topic of Domino’s pizza came up. When Yasmeen surprised Omar by sharing she was not fond of Domino’s, Omar responded by letting time (and good pizza) speak for itself. A few order recommendations and several date nights later, Yasmeen was the one asking when they could order it next. It was only fitting that their first in-person date was at an Italian restaurant, where the real pizza could be enjoyed. Afterward, they braved a below-zero stroll to a cozy hot chocolate pop-up… and their love story has been warming hearts ever since.
