Dress code is “semi-formal”
If you feel sick or fevered, please don’t attend. We appreciate your effort to join us on our special day but we don’t want to get everyone else sick. That being said, the Catholic Church is observing local laws and restrictions and has stated that if you’ve been vaccinated, you don’t have to wear a mask to the ceremony. For the reception, we’re leaving that up to each individual.
Yes! We will have a mass and the ceremony will happen during the middle of it.
There are several prayers that are done during a Catholic service and we will have a guide to help you keep track of where we are. There is a good bit of standing, sitting, and kneeling during mass, the guide will let you know what’s coming and what the Catholic congregation will be doing if you chose to join us. Otherwise, you can always sit. Communion is always done in a Catholic mass. We will have communion during our mass and if you are Catholic or Lutheran, you will be able to receive it. Unfortunately the Catholic Church does not allow other fellow Christians to receive it. Catholic weddings generally last at least an hour. We anticipate ours will last from an hour to an hour and a half.
