Question

When and how should I RSVP?

Answer

Please click the RSVP tab above to RSVP at any time, whether you can or cannot attend, however this needs to be done by July 1, 2026 in order for us to communicate with our vendors. If you do not RSVP by this time we will assume that you are not attending although you will be missed.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We are requesting cocktail attire. Feel free to wear a cocktail dress, dress pants with a tie, a midi or full length dress, or a suit. Ultimately we want you to dress your best and feel comfortable during our event.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space at our venues we are only able to accommodate guests formally named on your invitation. Your invitation will be made out to everyone included in your party.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones we are keeping this a 21+ event. We encourage you to take this as a night off from parenting! However, we are fine with children attending the brunch at our home the following morning. If you plan on attending and bringing children, please inform the bride and/or groom at the time you R.S.V.P. so we can be prepared to order bagels and donuts for the correct number of guests.

Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

Since we are keeping the event local to us as well as the majority of our friends and family we did not deem it necessary to hold a hotel block. If you would like to stay nearby, or need to, we recommend Hyatt Place Detroit/Royal Oak, located in downtown Royal Oak just ten minutes away from the reception venue.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Again, since this is a local event for many we are not providing any shuttle services for or between events.

Question

Where should I park for the ceremony?

Answer

The Taylor Botanical Gardens has a paved parking lot shared with the petting zoo next door. Paved spaces will be on a first come first served basis. Overflow parking is just past the paved parking lot on the grass.

Question

Where should I park for the reception?

Answer

The Rust Belt Market is in the heart of downtown Ferndale, and therefore does require city parking. We recommend “The Dot” parking structure which is located at 221 W. Troy St. just south of the venue. There are other various street, surface lot, and parking structure options nearby. Parking is not included and will need to be purchased in accordance with any guidelines in your parking space.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We have hired a professional photographer to capture our ceremony for us, so we ask that guests refrain from using personal devices. We would love for you to be fully present in the moment. We promise to share our photos as soon as possible, and feel free to show off your photography skills once we hit the reception.

Question

What should I do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Immediately following the ceremony please make your way to The Rust Belt for the reception to allow plenty of time for parking and to enjoy cocktail hour. The market will remain open until 7:00pm, so feel free to browse while you wait for the main event to begin, and don’t forget to grab a signature cocktail at 6:00pm from the bar in the event space.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, the full bar will open at 7:00pm with beer, spirits, and wine. We can’t wait to party with you!

Question

Do we need to say goodbye?

Answer

No, we encourage you to Irish Goodbye, so feel free to slip out whenever you feel is best. We would like to enjoy the dance floor as much as possible, but we would love to catch up with you at brunch the following morning!
