How We Met

09-07-2005

Kevin first noticed Stephanie when she would get on the same bus as him in the mornings going to school, but he was too cool (ahem shy) and never approached her. It wasn't until they had chemistry class together in their sophomore year that they began to talk. One day after school, Kevin began getting off at Stephanie's stop and started to walk her home. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Proposal

08-10-2018

A story of how everything that can go wrong did. Kevin and Stephanie made plans to watch the Perseid meteor shower on Jones Beach, and Kevin thought it would be romantic to propose then. On the day of, he went to ask Stephanie's parents for permission to marry her, but that's when things started to go wrong. Stephanie noticed that the car had moved parking spots and Kevin was unable to come up with a cover story. Very suspicious. Then on the drive to Jones Beach, Kevin was pulled over by a cop for speeding. Luckily no ticket was given. When Kevin pulled into Jones Beach, he was horrified to find that the field he had specifically scoped out to propose in was locked and chained. Undaunted he tried to enter through the exit but was unfortunately kicked out by the security guard. Lamely, he parked at the Nikon Theater and made Stephanie walk 30 minutes back to the original field. As they were setting up their blankets on the beach, they noticed that they were getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Stephanie wanted to leave immediately but Kevin insisted that they take a walk on the beach. 10 minutes and countless mosquito bites later, Stephanie was getting irritated and Kevin was kicking sand dunes looking for something. He left Stephanie on the boardwalk to run around looking for that something. It turned out his friends Harry and Sonny had set up candles on the beach to create the most romantic atmosphere for Kevin to propose in. As Kevin finally led Stephanie to the candles, and got down on one knee huffing and puffing, he had no more words but the gorgeous ring he personally designed said enough.
