It all started with a random Instagram follow in May 2024 - Yannis followed Sarita, and she followed him back thinking she knew him; turns out she didn't, but God did. Fast forward to December 2024 and they saw each other in person for the first time at the Sacred Gala. Shamir made it very obvious that Yannis was an eligible bachelor (she even followed up with a text to Sarita the next day singing the praises of her friend). A few days later Yannis posted a recap of the Sacred Gala and unbeknownst to him, he had captured Sarita in one of his pictures - which she kindly pointed out to him. They talked on and off in Instagram DMs until Yannis snuck in a way to give Sarita his number "so he could listen to the Palm Sunday message she preached". They talked on WhatsApp for another month before Yannis suggested that they finally meet in person. Their first "meeting" as Sarita likes to call it at Boundary on May 17, 2025 where they talked until closing, got kicked out, and talked for another hour in the parking lot before saying good night. They had two more meetings (and Sarita went away - of course) before their first official date on June 7, 2025 at Ruby Murry's. Yannis got down on one knee on December 14, 2025 and asked Sarita to be his wife - and she said YES! From a random follow to forever—proof that God works through Instagram, parking-lot conversations, and perfect timing.
