Yanni and Ej’s story began in early 2023, when they met through mutual friends at a gathering. By June 2024, Ej had started attending Yanni’s congregation. One day, he decided to join her in service for the “Declare the Good News” campaign, and afterward, he invited her to a casual meet-up at her favorite salad bar, Salata. Yanni thought it was just another hangout, unaware that Ej had something much more special planned. As they sat down, she was handed a gift card with a sweet note—Ej was asking her to be his girlfriend. It was a simple gesture, but it felt incredibly thoughtful and sincere. Yanni was touched, and of course, she said yes. It was one of the sweetest moments of her life. As the months passed, their relationship grew stronger, and by August 2024, they were happily engaged. Ej had planned a surprise proposal, telling Yanni they were attending a “couples game night,” where they needed to dress up for the occasion. Little did she know, it was all part of a carefully orchestrated plan with the help of their closest friends and family. As the night went on, the couple enjoyed games and laughter, but when it was Ej’s turn for charades, he suddenly became nervous. In the middle of his turn, he dropped to one knee and, overwhelmed with love, asked Yanni if she would marry him. Surprised and filled with emotion, Yanni immediately said yes.
